“I live on Earth at present, and I don’t know what I am. I know that I am not a category. I am not a thing — a noun. I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process – an integral function of the universe.” (R. Buckminster Fuller)

Who am I? I’m a human being like all human beings; a human who understands that life does not have to be perfect to be happy. To me happiness consists in the freedom of choosing to be ourselves and also in doing something we really like.

My name is Alina, I’m 30 years old. In 2013 I started studying Law. In 2014  a Photography school. The passion for photography began exactly in the same year immediately after spending few days in The Danube Delta and capturing its beauty with a friend’s DSLR. That was the moment when I wanted to learn more about photography and also the moment when I wanted my own DSLR.

My first camera (yes you guessed, a compact one).

Now I use a Nikon D7000/18-105mm/50mm and Tonality CK for editing my b&w images.

Why black and white? It’s how I’d love The World to be; with more colourful souls of course.

What type of photography attracts me?

Photography is like a refuge for me and since I discovered it I see The World with different eyes. I like the idea that I can photograph anything, anywhere, anytime. When I photograph I do it with my heart and for myself, not to become a rock-star.

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. For some people, Career and passion are two different identities. I always knew that I loved writing, but I realized it at the age of 23 (I touched this mark in Aug, 2014). This is the time when I developed interest in my research on cancer. I decided to satisfy my intellect in the lab and let the writer nurture itself during leisure time.

    1. …different or not, it is always good when we find our way in life. Good luck in your researches -there are so many people who need a medical miracle, and ‘Write hard and clear about what hurts’ (Ernest Hemingway). 🙂

    1. Completely agree. Happiness is not a destination. We all go through good and bad moments in life but we CAN choose to be happy ,if we want to.
Your photographs are amazing ! Don’t you ever ‘dare’ to give up on that.

    2. As long as you don’t get taken in by the ‘you won’t be happy until you have this!’ The illusion of ‘happiness’ is a salesman’s main too!.

As to you photography… you’re very kind! 🙂

  2. Like you, I see the world with different eyes now that I’ve renewed my interest in photography. I like what I see on this blog. We share something else. I graduated from law school here in the U.S. about ten years ago. 🙂

  3. well said….I know your feeling I get absorbed with photography after 45 years in medicine & golf after retirement. After I discovered the camera 4 years ago, golf is an after thought. Keep shooting and then the post processing will consume you…..be well

    1. Thank you, Richard Terpolilli. For stopping by, for your comment and encouragement. As about the art you create, I believe that’s something divine. Be well also.

  4. I nominate you for the 5 Photos/5 Stories Challenge for her amazing stories. It can be anything fictional or nonfictional; a short story, paragraph or a poem. Just need to nominate one blog per story. Please do not feel obligated to accept the invitation but I hope you do.

  5. Very pleased to discover your blog, Alina. I look forward to exploring it further soon, Many thanks for your visit to “my place” 🙂 Greetings from London to Romania.

  6. Alina…..follow your dream …the journey is great….results are what you make it….Just an FYI I was director Pharmacy Service of a large teaching hospital & on faculty of Brown Medical School, retired now, grandfather, played golf five days a week until I discovered the camera. So now I’m using my right side brain and love showing my camera to scene & creating something else from what feels right out of my soul…….Be well ….nice work with your blog!

  7. Hi Alina, I wanted to say that I recently connected with my Romanian roots with a distant family member from Constanta and I thought about how your photos connect me to a homeland I’ve never seen. It’s very special. Maybe someday, I’ll be able to visit Constanta and the Carpathians. I’ve always had a love of the shore and mountains.

    1. Hello Vince! No worries; It’s all my pleasure to like (appreciate) your great photographs.
I do the same with the rest of the blogs I follow ,every time I have the possibility 🙂
You’re more than welcome on my photo blog! Hugs!

  8. A pleasure to meet you Alina and thanks for your visit. I like very much your point of view in photography and in the life. Kisses from Spain. 🙂

  9. Hi Alina, I like your updated about page. I’m always curious how people find their passion and often it’s a moment where one is transfixed and the call to do something seems as natural as breathing. One can see the artist’s soul in your photography. I do hope your passion for it continues to bloom. 🙂

  10. Ma bucur nespus sa descopar aici o fotografie facuta cu sufletul ! O incursiune intr-o poveste e calatoria printre imagini…
    Multumesc pentru vizita, Alina!

    1. Multumesc de asemenea pentru aprecieri, vizita. Bine ati venit! Sper ca mintea, privirea sa va fie plimbate cu incantare de sufletul colorat al fotografiilor alb-negru.
